Baruch Climate Scholar Application (applications Due late spring)

Baruch’s faculty members engaged in climate change education and research from the Weissman School of Arts and Sciences, Zicklin School of Business, and Marxe School of Public and International Affairs are recruiting five Baruch undergraduate students for participation in the Baruch Climate Scholars (BCS) Program funded by the CUNY Office of Research. The Climate Scholars will explore climate issues in natural sciences, psychology, business, public policy, migration and communication.

In 2020, the Climate Scholars program will run from July 13, 2020 to March 30, 2021. Each Climate Scholar will earn a stipend of $5000 for participation with a budget of $900 travel to climate research and policy conferences.

Climate Scholars will: 1) participate in weekly faculty-led seminars, 2) engage in cross-disciplinary climate research, 3) participate in a two-month NGO or corporate climate change internship, 4) participate in weekly discussions focused on communicating with others about climate science, 5) present their research at Baruch Creative Inquiry Day, and 6) share climate change issues as a team of Scholars in large presentations and in small group settings with middle and high school students in the Baruch STEP (Science and Technology Entry Program) Academy, and with Baruch First Year Seminar students.

ALAC Scholarship Applications (applications Due May)

A new scholarship funded by ALAC International has been established to support students pursuing research in the field of environmental sustainability. The Department of Natural Science will award one or two scholarships in each year. In 2020, applications were due by May 8. You can find more information and the application here.
